Requirements to Join the Order of the Hospitaller Order of St. John of God
The Order of Hospitallers is a congregation of consecrated men who live and serve the church and society as religious brothers in the spirit of hospitality. The Hospitaller Brothers seek to maintain the presence of the compassionate and merciful Christ in the Gospel and strive to imitate Him in this manner. Hence, the Order is not for clerics/priests but an Order of religious brothers in the ministry of the sick.
Our founder, St. John of God, was known for his tremendous compassion & act of charity for the poor, the sick and the needy, thus, he was rightly known as a man of compassion. It is, therefore,
a major requirement that a candidate to hospitaller life must possess… “a heart full of compassion.”
